It's is me andysislands back again. I can see you are all very helpful with translations of my English.
I hope I can shed some more light on the Shaman King Anime. http://www.shamanking.tv/shamanking/ That link brings you to the official Shaman King website. First notice that the 4 hour program block is called "4Kids TV" This shows even more that they targeted Shaman King towards 5 to 7 year olds. If you click on the "Click to preview the next episode" you'll hear the name differences. Such as Hao being called Zeke. Horohoro using slang like "Dude this is totally awesome." And such. Here is a good list of name changes:
Ren - Lenny Hao - Zeke Manta - Morty Horohoro - Trey Racer Tamao - Tammy Ryu - Rio Chocolove - Joko Patch - Dobly Manta's Dictionary - A Book of Ghost Stories Oversoul - Spirit Control
There are other name changes, but they aren't as important. If a name wasn't on that list it wasn't changed.
Because of how America is right now, everybody is worried about getting into government legal troubles with religion and guns. Since 4Kids TV is targeted towards childern under 10 years old they must censor those topics. As for older viewers, it makes us very mad.
http://www.4kidsentertainmentinc.com/properties/shamanking.html If you click over on the left under "SHOW OPENING" you can see the Shaman King Anime opening. That is the same opening for the first and second seasons. We don't have an episode ending.
I could post a link to a place where you can download a complete episode of Shaman King Anime in English, so you can see the differences for yourself. But I am unsure of this places policies so I will hold off on taking that step.
There are Uncut DVDs being sold in America which are official. I have seen it on Yahoo! Auctions Japan, so if you want to pick it up you can compare.
Next, there is 2 more new Shaman King video games coming out in America. These 2 new ones are for the Gameboy Advance. Here is some information on it:
Mysterious spirits and ghosts have always played a part in the affairs of the "real" world. Their powers are supported by shamans and they are responsible for the four ancient civilizations. The ancient Aztecs, however, were not part of this and have avoided conflict with spirit forces. Their shamans used the wide seas as barriers of protection, keeping the Aztecs safe — until now.
Shaman King: Legacy of the Spirits — Soaring Hawk puts you in the role of Yoh Asakura as you use spirits to battle enemies. Spirit merging powers let you combine two spirits for additional options — try different combos and see which works the best. Trade spirits with a friend who owns the companion game Shaman King: Legacy of the Spirits — Sprinting Wolf for additional thrills and choices.
Product Features: - Spirit merging powers allow for new choices and additional thrills
- Spirit techniques are based on elemental properties, including light, darkness, thunder, water, wind and Earth
- Trade spirits with a friend via a Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable
- Play as Yoh Asakura
- Based on the popular animated series
There isn't much more new information on these 2 new games. Yes, they bring in the Aztecs into this game. It is a Role-Playing Game, so it must be better than the last 2 Shaman king games. If anybody wants more information on those 2 games (one for GBA and other of PlayStation 2) I can post it since I own both.
I hope this information helps in combining Shaman King Fans around the world.
